... SAMPLE.RUN ...
The purpose of this file is to allow you to get a quick look at
what THE INTERSTATE TRAVELER can do. It is a script to follow in
learning how the program works. A more detailed description of
the program can be found in the MANUAL.DOC file.
... INTRODUCTION ...
THE INTERSTATE TRAVELER is a graphical travel planner, designed
to produce itineraries, expense estimates, and maps for road trips
throughout the contiguous United States.
Planning a trip involves specifying the desired route in a
point-to-point manner. First, an origin city is selected, then each
intermediate city or highway junction along the way, until the final
destination is reached. New cities and highways can be easily added
to the maps as the route progresses.
Once the route of the trip has been specified, an itinerary and
estimate of expenses can be prepared.
The program also includes individual maps of 35 selected cities.
These maps show major highways; features, such as lakes and rivers;
and points of interest. Information about population and local
climate is also provided.
The itineraries and maps shown on the screen can be printed to
produce a complete travel package.
... SAMPLE RUN ...
The following sample run will demonstrate most of the functions of
the program. Print a copy of these steps and give them a try.
